TIGER CASPI

Zygia spp.

Includes at least Zygia cataractae, Zygia inaequalis, and Zygia juruana of the family Fabaceae (syn. Leguminosae) the legume, pea, or bean family

I am not familiar with these South American species, but clearly they are very close in appearance to the closely related wood marblewood (Zygia racemosa, also from South America) and I am not fully convinced but what some of the woods listed here as tiger caspi might in fact be marblewood (and some of what I have as marblewood could be tiger caspi); they look to be very easy to confuse. I Have never encountered this wood as veneer.
